How to compare flight prices with confidence

A price is more useful when you know the journey behind it, and when it was observed.

An observation is a moment in time

A displayed price reflects an observation, not a reserved seat. Airline inventory and seller availability may change. Use the observation time to understand freshness, and check the live total before booking.

Similar trips make better comparisons

Compare the same destination, journey type and length of stay. Dates, stops, baggage and departure airports can all change the product. A lower fare on a different itinerary may still be a useful alternative, but it is not an identical replacement.

Read history as context

Recorded prices can show what was previously observed. They cannot guarantee where the price will go next, and a small number of observations cannot establish a reliable trend. Missing data should stay missing rather than become a confident prediction.

Choose a price that works for you

Set a budget and decide which schedule and ticket conditions you can accept. When an available trip fits those needs, the decision is yours. Waiting for a theoretically perfect fare may also mean losing an option you liked.
